Our Baby Steps...............

->We began visiting people of rural areas. Our main intention here was to know the root cause of why these students dropped out or never attended school.

We found quite disheartening reasons to our questions while surveying.
A couple of families felt that financial crisis kept their children away from being educated. They regret for not being able to send their children to school. Some parents happened to say that their children had no interest to go to school!!!!!!!!

->Then we formed The Young Mettle Community, where we gave talks and held competitions for the members. We also conducted an essay competition in our school, which had a participation of around 30-40 students (that was quite surprising!)

->This was followed by displaying articles and posters in relation to this issue.

->Later we started giving talks in other private and public schools to highschool students. This also included quizzes, debates and presentations.

->We also tried our best to make the poor dropouts aware of the scholarships, schemes introduced by the government for the minorities and also about the various fields of higher studies of their interest that they can pursue.
